Virfac® Additive Manufacturing

Virfac® Additive Manufacturing module has the capability to compute both the SLM (Selective Laser Melting) as well as the LMD (Laser Metal Deposition) processes efficiently. It is based on a multiphysics and multiscale approach, providing the user with highly accurate distortions & residual stresses within a very short time. With the help of this module, the user can optimize the build-up orientation, the support configuration and verify the influence of operating conditions on the distortions, plastic strains and residual stresses. The user can decide on the depth of the analysis, from the Micro, at the scale of the powder/laser to the Macro, at the scale of the workpiece.
